Had a fantastic time at the Memorabilia exhibition at Birmingham NEC today! I got to hug Mitch Pileggi, who's very tall, Chris Gauthier, who's very sweet, Mark Pellegrino, who's very firm, and Rob Benedict, who's very - um - Chuck.
I have to say, all four of the guests were fabulous. I couldn't afford autographs as well as photographs (well I couldn't really afford photographs either), so didn't get to speak to them for very long, but I got eye contact from all four of them, and Mark was so jet lagged, but still managed to last the day with a smile, despite nearly falling asleep at the autograph table this morning! (Mr. Padalecki should perhaps take note!)
The atmosphere was a lot more relaxed than Asylum - we could take photos of the stars signing - and Rob actually waved at us while we were taking them! He's a real sweetie. Just wanted to pick him up, put him in my pocket and take him home. I suspect someone might have objected, however.
Hopefully I'll have some pictures up tomorrow when I'm more awake.
There were some interesting non-SN guests there too. Tony Todd was going out of his way to make sure everyone got photos with him, although Mary McDonnell wasn't at all happy about people snapping pictures of her sitting at the autograph table and kept putting her hand in front of her face. I didn't expect that from her, so it was a bit of a disappointment. Have to say, Enterprise's Anthony Montgomery? Yeah, I could have happily taken him home with me too. Although I don't think he'd have fitted in my other pocket.
Hadn't expected Craig Charles and Chloe Annett from Red Dwarf to be there, so that was a nice surprise! I would probably have walked past Jason Mewes and not known it was him if he hadn't been standing in front of a Dogma poster. And I even got to see Tom Felton and Warwick Davis in the far distance!
Dawn got her picture taken in the Back to the Future DeLorean, and with Darth Vader, some storm troopers, a fake David Tennant, several Daleks, the Predator and one of those horrible scarecrow things from Doctor Who. We also met Captain Jack Sparrow and Neo from the Matrix. A good day was had by all.
But seriously. FOUR POUNDS for a SANDWICH?????

If any of you would care to find out why I've bitten my fingernails down to the quick tonight, feel free to check out the Virtual Season 4 premiere, "Refraction", by - er - Irismay42. But only if you'd like to. I'm not going to hold a gun to anyone's head. Unless they'd like me to. This is only my first premiere after all. And I'm not nervous. Not at all. No really.
Anyway, if you'd like to read it, it's here
Oh and here's a pretty picture to look at in the mean time.

So excited! Not only did my US region 1 version of season 4 arrive this week - only two weeks delivery time and no Customs surcharge! - but I've just had an email from Play.com to say my season 4 part 2 UK region 2 version is on it's way too! It's Thursday! It's not released till next Monday! Woooooot!
And it's Supernatural on Living tonight at 9pm! So yeah, it's Hook Man, but we can't have everything... And new episode tomorrow! With guest stars!!!

Hurrah! Living TV will be showing the UK's first repeat run of SN season 1 from next Thursday, 6th August at 9pm! Which means our show is now airing in the same time slot as it airs in the US! Woot!
Whether this will be SN's new permanent home is still unknown, but it's possible Living are hoping to get viewers used to seeing the show in that slot before it airs season 5 - and by my reckoning, if they show season 1 followed by season 5, that would mean an early January premiere for the latest season! (We can but pray!)
Yah boo sucks to you ITV2!
Can't wait to see the ratings...

So Living TV have bought the rights to season 5 of SN apparently: click here
While this is pretty crappy for those SN fans who can't afford Sky or Virgin (as Living doesn't air on Freeview), in some ways I think this channel is a better 'fit' for our show, currently broadcasting Ghost Whisperer and other paranormal reality shows (I think there's one called Ghost Chasers or something similar!), and having previously shown genre fair such as the fabulous Moonlight.
As with Moonlight, which is just about to begin a repeat run over on Virgin 1, SN will also be repeated on Virgin, which currently airs Chuck and has previously aired Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and this channel does air on Freeview. Although it's taken about a year for Moonlight to make it over there.
Bearing in mind Living is also home to first run Grey's Anatomy and CSI, I think this could be a pretty decent move for SN, and might even see our show getting a little bit of promotion - something ITV didn't seem to have a clue how to do. We'll definitely see some repeat runs too, which is something ITV2 has never done in four years.
My only concerns? Firstly, Ghost Whisperer generally doesn't start airing until April, so that's going to be one helluva wait if Living decide to hold SN over as long. The initial gossip before season 1 of SN aired in the UK was that Living had bought the rights - and I seem to remember emailing them to ask them if that was true and when they would be showing it, but never got a reply. So I'm not sure whether emailing them to ask when they'll be showing season 5 will have much effect!
Secondly, Ghost Whisperer is, at the moment, Living's highest-rated scripted show (as SN was on ITV2) and only garners around 350,000 viewers, whereas SN was averaging around 700,000 on ITV2.
But also on the plus side? For those of you who liked to watch SN on ITV2, then follow it up with the same ep on ITV2+1? Living has a +1 AND a +2 channel!

British people: Why did more of you watch AYTGIMDW than Lazarus Rising? And were you really all watching Lost and recording Supernatural?
*shakes fist*
We are, indeed, a strange bunch.
Ratings can be found here .
On the other hand, the adverts are horrendous on ITV2 so I can't blame any of you for recording SN. And at least we got 2nd and 3rd place on ITV2 and 1st and 3rd place on ITV2 +1. And hahahahahah where the hell was Gossip Girl??!!!! (Eeeeeevil snigger...)
So we're still ITV2's highest rated scripted show. And they've finally remembered to add us to their list of programmes on their stupid green website!

I don't get any royalties (bummer) but if you'd like to pre-order (it's out on Jensen's birthday, 1st March 2009) you can do it here (UK) or here (US).
